Bang-Ju Church in Jeju

Bang-Ju Chruch was built
by a famous Japanese-Korean architect, Itami Jun, in Jeju in 2009.

Itami Jun got inspiration from the bible story, 'Noah's Ark.'

So the shape of Bang-Ju Church resembles Noah's ark.

Bang-Ju Church looks like a ship floating on the water.

Itami Jun wrote in his book  "Architecture and Urbanism 1970-2011",
"The important thing is to listen to the language spoken
by the topography of the land and the 'voice of the wind,"

So we can see the wind in his architecture, Bang-Ju Church.

Do you find the wind in the Bang-Ju Church?

We can see the wind rippling the surface of the water.

There is no bus route.
If you want to go there, You have to drive a car.

Saryeoni Forest Trail in Jeju

Saryeoni Forest Trail is famous for forest walking
on the slope of Hallasan.

'Saryeoni' means 'holy place' in Jeju dialect.

While the fog sits aomong the trees in this forest,
Walking in the forest fog  is quite amazing.

I recommend this forest to those who love nature.

But Saryeoni Forest is crowded with people on weekends.

Bus 710 from intercity bus terminal takes you Saryeoni Forest Trail.

There is no entrance fee.
